Peterlee 3.5 - 1.5 Middlesbrough B
J.Simpson 1 - 0 R.Stather
C.Walton 1 - 0 P.Gregory
D.Armbruster 1 - 0 J.Pallister
C.Smith 0.5 - 0.5 P.Perrett
S.Carter 0 - 1 I.Elcoate
Peterlee won the toss and chose black on odd boards. Didn't see a great deal of boards 1 and 2 but when I took a peek halfway in we certainly looked behind.
On board 3 John could have drawn by repetition but, as our only chance to sneak a win in the match was with the bottom 3 winning, John went for it and lost - good effort putting the team first though.
On board 4 there was a wild Kings Gambit from Smithy that ended in a draw as perpetual was on the cards, though Smithy's next suggested move afterwards left him mated in 1, lmao. I think Smithy missed some winning chances after Paul went wrong and lost a piece at one point but it was a very complex game.
Board 5 was another wild game, not, as Steve played the Burn variation in the French. I stayed awake long enough to keep an edge throughout the game and had a positional advantage around move 30 but with still a lot to do. Neither of us had a great deal of time left and as we approached the time control Steve went wrong leaving an easy win.
Good to see the Peterlee lads again, they thoroughly deserve their success this year and I look forward to playing them again next season in A division ... unless I end up in the C team.

So you spotted our weakness eh?
While myself and Mr Carter are mere 150 - 160 players (new money grades) Armbruster is a lot better than his grade suggests! Indeed were it not for the distraction of women and gambling 'Bruster' would not lose a game espescially on board 3!!!
